Putting my creative writing hat for the first time, I am trying to reflect and dive more into what kind of outfits will be in demand? What will be the popular trend? How will the industry move? How can I be part of it?

Indian weddings are very special especial in our country and we plan for it months prior by visiting most of the Indian wedding stores nearby. So while we are all sitting at home and helping the country flatten the curve, how about planning an outfit for your upcoming wedding occasions of your near and dear ones as currently we do not have access to any Indian Wedding Stores nearby but hopefully with this article you might find the trend that you would want to go for!!!

Back in the days, when we use to think of weddings the first thing that came to our mind are those marigold flowers, that standard mandap and those traditional ritual. But, nowadays weddings are more quirky, colorful, there are umbrellas hanging, colorful paper lanterns as a décor all over. Bride’s entry is no more a shy dulhan coming in a doli with a ghunghat. Times have changed; the brides have gone bolder by entering with a bang like entering in an auto-rickshaw or a bike at their own weddings with so much confidence and grace. With so much happening in a wedding, choosing an outfit is something you wouldn’t want to go wrong with and in the times of social media where everyone wants to stand out from the rest and with so many options around it kind of gets confusing.

So lets look at what are the latest indian wear for weddding you can go for and with so many options in mind I am putting down ways to look and feel stylish in any wedding you are looking forward to attend.

Get edgy with color block outfits.

To begin with, Color blocking is a smart way of coordinating the colours of your outfit. It is about statement pieces with the right technique. Color blocking is selecting two bold colors in the same color palette or one single solid colour.

Color blocking will not only make you look “stunner” but will make you look bold, creative and someone who loves to experiment. The primary colors which are very popular in Indian weddings are Red, pink, blue, yellow majorly or some bold combinations like pink and orange, green and pink etc.

Note:  Important instruction before trying this trend is to be self-confident and never be afraid to show off your style and creativity. Experiment with any color and you will find a new you in “yourself” every time you experiment.

2) Indian Lehenga with a twist

As a child, we have all experienced a twirl moment may be those fairy type frocks or a flared skirt. For me a lehenga is that memory which I always cherish as a grown up and this is the most beautiful outfit which I usually like to create from selecting a fabric, colors, fit and yes the most importantly the ways its stitched to give that “Twirl Moment” Whenever I come across anyone who wants to make a lehenga the first thing they tell me is “I want Maximum ghera.” That is the beauty of this style which you can never go wrong with. Lehengas are not just for the brides anymore. From our mothers to sisters to our friends and even little girls these days make this outfit look so gracious -it’s like one thing fits all. Lehenghas can make you look so stylish by just adding a different element like chic blouses or team it up with a jacket or just a drape. Just a small change like these can make you look a stunner. Sharing with you latest wedding wear lehenga you can try for the upcoming weddings.

3) Shararas – a big come back!!!

Shararas are wide-legged pants which come with intricate designs and one can style it in multiple ways. It creates an illusion of a lehenga and can be paired with long kurta, short kurta, jacket, and it looks lovely with peplums too. I find this the trendiest style in Indian wedding wear. They are taking ethnic fashion to the next level.  This is a perfect substitute and a break from lehenga if you have to attend an Indian wedding function as a guest. Sharara meets the demand for a constant new and something different which every bride and bridesmaid is looking for and can really give them the oomph!! Factor According to me this can be a smart choice in your wardrobe.

Peplums are is not new, but this year it has seen lot of twists. The best thing with Peplums is that it can be coordinated with multiple outfits like lehenga, cigarette pants, and palazzos. This fabulous trend matches both skinny and curvy bodies making everyone look extraordinary and sophisticated. Peplums can look beautiful in any of the wedding occasion like mehndi, cocktail, etc.  Well, such is the charm of these elegant looking kurta or a blouse.

When it comes to Indian weddings nothing compares the versatility of the six yard saree. “It never asks you to fit in, it always makes you stand out” such is the charm of this classic attire. If you want to look a show stopper I am sure it is not going to disappoint you at all. The variety of sarees can be selected from the range Kanjivarams, Bandhani, Paithani, Benarasi, Printed cave to name a few. The blouse of the saree has become one of the biggest reasons why today’s millennial are opting this age old traditional wear as one of the option for Indian weddings. When I say blouse it’s purely because of the variety we see in the patterns from puff sleeves, to high necks, to balloon sleeves. For sarees I can safely say that in a world full of trends, it is a classic!!!
